Social Work Assessments
Throughout my career, I have completed numerous reports within the Court arena, whether that is as a Social Worker when making an application to the Family Court due to safeguarding concerns for a child; as a Guardian (whilst at Cafcass) acting on the child's behalf within Care Proceedings (working closely with the Child's Solicitor); within Private Law proceedings, supporting parents to find the best arrangements for their child post-separation; or as an Independent Social Worker, assessing parents with additional needs, or extended family members who are seeking to care for a child.
All of these experiences have helped me to hone my assessment and report writing skills, to ensure that the child is always the focus of the work and that my recommendations are thoughtful, evidence based and with recommendations which everyone can understand.
Within my work, I have given evidence in Court on many occassions and fully understand the processes and responsibiloities involved with preparing work for the Courts (both Family Court and Court of Protection). This experience ensures that my written work is consistently completed to a high standard, where professionals and family members are able to understand the work I have completed, my recommendations and why I made those recommendations.
For Contact Assessments and Section 7 Reports, I am able to be instructed directly by parents (without having to use a solicitor) and I make every effort to ensure that the work and the processes are fully explained, so that everyone understands what enquiries I will be making and what purpose they will serve. These types of assessments are always child-focussed and solution focussed; aiming to achieve the best arrangements for the child(ren) subject to the application, but with the knowledge that this varies depending on the circumstances of each individual family.
Assessments available include, but are not limited to:
If you're enquiry is relating to a case in Public Law proceedings, then I consistently do my best to work within Legal Aid Agency timescales and costings, depending on the particular issues involved.
For all other work, quotes are provided on a case by case basis, given the complexities involved in each families circumstances. However, my aim is to ensure that the timescales and costs for all of my assessments are competetive, with assessments typically being completed within six to eight weeks.
